Requirements for the road trip

1. 200% carnet fees - carnet is a document which is like the passport of your car . It is required to exit and re-enter India. It is a refundable security deposit which is charged 200% on your vehicles value. Carnet is a valid document which is acceptable by Thailand customs.

2.Local Guide: It is mandatory to hire a local Burmese guide  who should be approved by the Ministry of Myanmar Tourism

3.Lead Car: It is mandatory to hire a lead car even if you are driving alone because of poor sign boards and language problem.

4. Apply for special overland permits and permissions through local agent one month in advance to drive in Myanmar.

5. Apply for temporary import of vehicles in Myanmar as this country does not accept carnet.

6. International driving licence to drive in Thailand.

7. Visa for Myanmar and Thailand.

8. Carry original vehicle papers, air pump, puncture kit etc.

A walk in the Valley Some Walks are meant to be taken alone... I was at sangla on August of 2009.sangla is a  valley which is surrounded by snow capped mountains  and picturesque pine forest.
